Definitions

Phenocopy means Phenocopy LLC. We will refer to phenocopy as “we”, “us” and “our” throughout this policy.
Service means the products and services that we offer to you through our website Citochrome.com

User is anyone who establishes a connection with, or directly or indirectly accesses pages from the Citochrome.com website or purchases  our products.

Aggregate Information is information about multiple users that contains no personal identifiable information.

A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser. Its purpose is to remember information about you, similar to a preference file created by a software application.

Data Collection Technologies refer to any technologies that we or third parties use on our websites and other digital services to collect information about your use of these services.

Raw DNA Data means information about your genotypes that is generated by a third party DNA service.

Information we collect and process

We collect your Personal Information directly from you when you register for a citochrome.com account your name, postal address, email address, to identify you, provide you with the service, and communicate with you.
We collect Your DNA Data File when you upload your DNA data. Your DNA Data File and your email address will be processed by us. We use third party  technology platforms for cloud storage and analytics . We will process this information to provide you with the service. We use your email address to market to you new products and services that we may offer.

We use a third party payment processor to collect and process your payments on our behalf. We do not process or  maintain your financial information on our systems or servers.
Device and other internet information to  monitor and improve our service We do log IP addresses, operating systems and browser software. We analyze this data in whole to determine traffic patterns, determine web page design, to improve our service. This data does not contain your name or your email address.

RIGHTS; LICENSEWe do not claim any ownership rights in your DNA Data File, it belongs to you only.By uploading your DNA Data File, you grant us a temporary, limited, revocable, royalty-free, world-wide license to process and use your DNA Data File for the purpose of providing you with the service; for generating your Report.By uploading DNA Data Files to citochrome.com, you acknowledge that you acquire no rights in any research or commercial products that may be developed by us (whether or not they relate to the said DNA Data Files).

Data retention

We will keep your Personal Information for business purposes including any legal, professional, accounting or reporting requirements. 

We use a third party payment processor to collect and process your payments on our behalf. We do not process or  maintain your financial information on our systems or servers.

Uploaded DNA data are usually only available for a short time before they’re deleted. Usually when quality reviews are done and the report is successfully generated. 

Data Sharing

Privacy matters. At no time is your DNA data  sold to any external party.Like all companies, we have many technology partners to help us  provide you with the service. That requires using their servers and some sharing of data to perform necessary business tasks. We use reputable third party providers to store your information, process payments, perform calculations, and other technologies to operate our business and comply with regulations. 

Cookies

Cookies may be used by Citochrome.com authentication, analytics and other business purposes. A cookie is a small amount of data generated by a website and saved by your web browser. Its purpose is to remember information about you, similar to a preference file created by a software application.

Security

We maintain reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protect your Personal Information. One of the principal security features of our applications, that we use two separate systems, none have all the information.
Users outside of the U.S.

We are located in the U.S. and may use facilities in the United States and other countries. When you use the Service, we will process and store your Personal Information in the United States and  other countries where we have facilities. Using the Service, you acknowledge that your Personal Information will be transferred to and processed where we operate.
